Changes to Journalism

Imagen
Well, this is a very complicated issue for me because I have never been very interested or motivated with the career. It seems to me that there are many things to change and that ends up demotivating me. The main thing is the length of the career, for me it is too long. In other countries where journalism is usually better, the career lasts a maximum of three years and here in Chile it lasts FIVE YEARS. There are many subjects that are shared with the film career that in my opinion do not contribute to my training as a professional. And it seems to me that they do this as an excuse to join both careers in a single faculty.  There are also things that I like. For example, the approach of the career that allows you to develop as a critical person in the face of social reasons. It also prepares you to be a journalist for written media and not for television. You can write essays or notes for newspapers.  In terms of infrastructure, I think it's enough. Obviously it could be...

My old self

Imagen
I would prefer to go to the future. I think traveling to the future would be great because I can know what my life will be like at that time. I'm excited to know what I will work on or what my life will be like. Maybe I will have children - even though I don't want them now - or create a different family than the one I imagine. I would travel to when I'm 50, I think that's a perfect age to see how my life has gone and what my old age will be like.  I would not stay forever, I would like to live all the anecdotes that I lived to be like this at 50. Obviously, this is a very difficult question because there is always the regret of something you did. That's why I think the simple answer is that I would prefer to travel. But in my opinion, mistakes make you the person you are and it's not right to change them. In this blog I am obliged to answer the question where I would like to travel if to the future or to the past, but if I have the option to really decide what ...

Dream Job

Imagen
I'd like to find a way to bring journalism and food together. Write for a magazine about it. Be a food critic. Taste food from restaurants and then comment on their food. Eat for free hahaha.  Obviously, I plan to study gastronomy after I graduate from journalism. So I can have more weight in my opinion. I think I have to prove that I know how to cook and then comment on others.  The salary issue is not important to me. I think that if you like what you do, that's enough. Honestly, I haven't looked up what the salary is for that job. I think it's a dream but it's also just as possible. If you ask me what major I'm thinking of taking, I think something about culture. It's a difficult question for me. I'm also thinking about photojournalism to photograph the dishes and give it more graphic content. I would like to study outside of Chile. That would combine traveling (i love it) and studying. Besides, studying outside of Chile has a different prestige. My ...

Epic Bad Bunny

Imagen
The concert I enjoyed the most in my life was Bad Bunny's show at the National Stadium in 2022. This guy has been my idol since I was a teenager, and his music has been a part of my life for years. My favorite Bad Bunny album is YHLQMDLG; it came out just before the pandemic and helped me get through those tough times. The concert in 2022 was amazing. I literally knew all the songs and sang my heart out; it was an incredible experience. Plus, I went with one of my best friends – what could be better! We got there at 4 in the afternoon because there were some Chilean artists performing before Bad Bunny. It was worth it because they were awesome, like Young Cister and Pailita. The most epic part of the concert was when Bad Bunny got on a platform and not only roamed the entire stage "flying" but also came over to where we were, the audience. I had never seen anything so mind-blowing. After the concert, I bought a Bad Bunny T-shirt that I still cherish. Honestly, I have the ...

Favorite Place

If you ask me where I would like to travel, my answer would be everywhere. But if I have to choose, I choose Mexico. Why? the reason is simple, I love Mexican food. Besides, it has many beaches and a warm culture.  Mexico has a very varied gastronomy and in each city there are different dishes and flavors. Tacos, for example, are filled with different ingredients and this is due to what they produce in the area where you buy them. My favorite is the taco al pastor. It is one of the most famous. They are representative of the central zone of Mexico. I would like to travel to many cities and try their tacos.  If I could go to Mexico it would be for vacation. Honestly, I wouldn't want to live there. I am not an expert. However, I think Mexico is very unsafe and dangerous. The crimes are more serious than in Chile. If I live in another country it would be in a very quiet one.  I hope to travel someday to Mexico and remember this blog, in the future (soon).
